Job Description

Pillsbury is seeking an experienced Sr. Database Engineer to serve in a critical role within the firm.  This position will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of our operations, enabling the firm to deliver high-quality services that are imperative to success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaison between the Litigation Department, Information Technology personnel and outside software, imaging, and coding vendors to achieve high quality and reliable systems that meet the department’s expectations in the automation of its practice on a cost- effective basis.

  • Proactively work with the department, understanding its needs, and maintaining, identifying, and developing systems and program specifications to increase the Firm’s competitiveness in attracting complex litigation business.

  • Assist the professionals and paraprofessionals in technical and analytical areas.

  • Provide user support and training, monitoring, and supporting project workflow, selecting/implementing litigation support tools, and maintaining the appropriate communications and rapport with the internal clients and team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (or significant and relevant work experience) along with four or more years of litigation support experience.

  • Knowledge of database design, implementation, and maintenance.

  • Scanning and imaging technologies; tools for mobile access to the Firm’s network and remote depositories.

  • Litigation-related technologies including real-time reporting and litigation risk analysis.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation lifecycle and of litigation support technology, services, and vendors (particularly Opus 2 and OpenText Axcelerate).

  • Knowledge on processing and loading data to document review platforms.

  • Understanding of document review workflows for litigation.

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows-based software and network environments.

  • Experience managing incoming/outgoing data as well as archive management.

  • Ability to update workflows based on hosting platform updates.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. 

  • Experience with predictive coding/technology-assisted review methodologies and platforms is a strong plus.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, be committed to teamwork, have a willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges, enjoy problem solving and have flexibility in work schedule to meet project demands.

  • A motivated and flexible individual with good technical and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of ReadySuite and Kiteworks preferred

  • Requires an agreed upon “pace” of billable hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
