Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiological Technology required.
  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Mammography certification preferred or must be successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.
  • Valid Montana State Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • BLS required.
  • To be eligible for the Driver portion of the position: 
    • Current Driver’s License required. 
    • Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any major driving offenses (i.e; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).
    • In addition, personal vehicles used for LH business:
      • State law minimum liability coverage limits required.
  • To be eligible for the breast sonography portion of the position: certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as mammography technologist preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience in one (1) of the following specialty areas preferred:
    • Quality control
    • Breast sonography  
    • Stereotactic biopsies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Properly identifies and prepares patient for exam. Explains exam and strives to ensure patient comfort.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environments by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Obtains meaningful history of scheduled procedure and other exam related information.  Documents patients’ mammography related visit by completing accurate patient record charting.
  • Processes images and prepares cases for Radiologist review. Completes appropriate documentation per department protocol. 
  • Ensures the patient understands the results and available options as defined by the Radiologist.
  • Performs arrival, end of day, and next day preparation duties per department procedure and protocol as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Assists in the review of current procedure manual and/or protocols for procedures performed within the department. Assists leadership and appropriate stakeholders in preparing for ACR and FDA accreditation.
  • Assists with daily departmental upkeep including, but not limited to; housekeeping, stocking, inventory control, etc.
  • Participates in mammography related educational opportunities, reviews professional publications and/or participates in professional organizations.
