GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse ready to provide excellent healthcare services. The Wyoming Retirement Center is a long-term care facility. This position requires an RN to provide quality health care to persons with mental health, dementia, and medical needs in a home-like setting. Our goal is to stabilize and help the people we care for attain their highest functional level. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

 
  • Provides professional nursing services in chronic as well as acute care settings.
  • Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons.
  • Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
  • Assists with ADL (Activities of Daily Living).
  • Trains and assigns work to LPNs and CNAs.

Examples of duties


KNOWLEDGE: 


  • Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, techniques of professional nursing, and Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, reports, and observations.
  • Knowledge of medication administration and mathematical calculations for the correct dosage.
  • Knowledge of the aging process, medical problems, diseases, and behavioral issues.
  • Knowledge of work management and leadership theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to healthcare.
  • Knowledge of the ability to function and make decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Knowledge of good oral and written communication skills to articulate thoughts and medical terminology.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)
 
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming.
