POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all technology systems, hardware, software and related infrastructure. This includes documenting, purchasing, installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, updating, and securing all IT systems, equipment and network integrity to ensure optimal performance. The SSA will assist and collaborate with all departments to ensure technology needs are effectively prioritized, communicated, and met. Additionally, the SSA will act as the cybersecurity champion, responsible for promoting and implementing robust cybersecurity measures, policies, and awareness programs across the organization. Contribute to developing systems strategic plans and ensuring successful execution of IT objectives.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). One direct report (IT Technician).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE:
· Follow rules and processes as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality Manual and Safety training regarding conduct and performance standards expected of all employees

· Perform system maintenance, analyze logs, and conduct routine audits to identify and resolve potential network or system issues including installation of new software, software updates, manage user access, and monitor disk utilization
· Ensure adequate functioning computer availability via installation, maintenance, support, monitoring, and troubleshooting computer hardware problems
· Proactively research and develop strategies to enhance operations through technology improvement including functionality, quality, price, and product support of computer hardware, software and computer-related equipment
· Document network infrastructure, basic processes and procedures and maintain control records
· Perform and monitor system backups for all servers
· Establish, maintain and test security and disaster recovery procedures
· Negotiate, review and approve IT services and equipment contracts
· Effectively prioritize, communicate and meet company IT needs, keeping key personnel informed on pertinent issues
· Seek opportunities to update job knowledge and remain current on the latest technology advancements
· Identify opportunities, make recommendations, develop and implement changes that will increase efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including equipment and process enhancements
· Maintain confidentiality and security of employee, customer, and supplier information
· Ensure technology systems, hardware, software and related infrastructure operate at an optimal level
· Consistently and effectively identify, manage and complete multiple responsibilities accurately, timely and within budget including communication and follow through on task information, status, and questions to the appropriate people
· Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for the position and situation
· Demonstrate collaborative working relationships, good judgment, reasoning and professional conduct in all business interactions, representing UEA favorably with employees, customers, and vendors
· Demonstrate physical, regular, and punctual attendance and communicate scheduled and unscheduled absences in advance
· Lead cybersecurity initiatives, promoting and implementing robust cybersecurity measures, policies, and awareness programs to fit business needs.
· Ensure systems are adequately protected by staying up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and trends. Work with partners to train staff on cybersecurity best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
· Supervisory responsibility of one (1) direct report – IT Technician, including overseeing and guiding employees' performance, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, providing support and feedback, and fostering a productive and positive work environment.
· Perform other duties as directed by the CFO.
Requirements
EDUCATION - Associate Degree in Network Administration, Computer Science or related field, or a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in system/network administration, software and hardware support.
EXPERIENCE - A minimum of five (5), prefer eight (8)+ years combined education and experience in manufacturing operations, business operations, systems development or related field. Experience with: Microsoft O365, Microsoft Active Directory, Networking, VPN, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Sub-netting, VMware, DATTO, DNS/DHCP, Group P
