The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Level 4) in Huntsville, AL. We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio area which design, build, test, deploy, operate, and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers. Position Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of how the business and organization operates; knowledge of policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the business and organization understand the competition and the marketplace

  • Leads teams in analyzing product development, innovative producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies.

  • Conceptualizes and oversees the implementation of the program architecture for build.

  • Develops manufacturing plans or concepts for high level program requirements.

  • Resolves complex technical problems.

  • Organizes technical aspects of proposal development.

  • Develops and authors new engineering principles, theories and advanced technologies. Develops advanced design solutions.

  • Conducts research resulting in new product or business opportunities. Consults on lean principles and technologies for enterprise wide initiatives.

  • Documents and communicates producibility best practices. Identifies training needs. Establishes procedures, standards, protocols and reporting requirements.

  • Understand how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understand the cultures of organizations.

  • Using a variety of media, clearly convey information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message

  • Make customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions

  • Provide products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life – not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up

  • Identify and correct conditions and behaviors that affect employee, public, and customer safety; uphold safety standards; demonstrate proactive safety culture leadership

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim U.S. secret clearance Pre Start and final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).

  • Minimum of 6 years in manufacturing engineering role

  • 5 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Experience in MESci

  • Experience in electronics or circuit card assembly

  • Experience in mid to high volume assembly factories producing complex products.
