ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Sr. Auditor to support N3B in a direct role! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluations of corporate governance, operational efficiencies and will facilitate and interface with external auditors.

  • Provide independent and objective evaluations of the company's financial and operational business activities, including its corporate governance.

  • Serve as the liaison for external audits to include annual incurred cost audit, 401K plan audits, Union pension audits, etc.

  • Evaluate internal processes and prepare risk assessments.

  • Create and execute internal audit plans.

  • Obtain and evaluate internal accounting and operational documentation.

  • Develop recommendations and formulate cost saving actions.

  • Prepare and present reports regarding findings.

  • Conduct follow-up audits.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all external audits and manage audit schedules.   

  • Compile information as required for external auditors, working with the accounting and payroll teams to meet audit requirements.

  • Must have excellent report-writing skills.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 15+ years of relevant experience

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work

  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the examination and evaluation of company processes, reporting findings back to management on possible process improvements and adjustments to potential weakness.

  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines and develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

  • Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity, with extensive latitude for independent judgment

  • Demonstrated skill and ability to perform critical strategic tasks and to interpret broad strategic and technical requirements and develop and execute plans to satisfy them

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (e.g., ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, work/interact effectively and amicably with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and with diverse personal attributes).

  • Effective communication skills (i.e., ability to present ideas effectively in formal and informal situations and convey thoughts clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing).

Desired Skills

  • Federal government contracting experience is strongly preferred.

  • Certification such as Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

About the Site

N3B manages the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy Environmental Management’s Los Alamos Field Office, which is responsible for cleaning up contamination that resulted from LANL operations before 1999 and packaging and shipping radioactive and hazardous waste off-site for permanent disposal (n3b-la.com).
