Role at a Glance

The Robotic Field Engineers are engaged on the front lines conducting industrial inspections. The Robotic Field Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the fulfillment of customer requirements through on-site inspections of Gecko’s products in power plants, oil and gas refineries, paper mills, and other industrial settings across North America. In addition to conducting field service work, you will also work closely with the team on shop-based tasks such as robot maintenance, developing procedures, and providing training support for new team members.

What you will do

  • Interfacing with customers on-site to complete Non - Destructive Testing inspections using robotics technologies
  • Operating Gecko products and internal tools to ensure data integrity in industrial environments.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with Gecko’s products and processes in a field setting
  • Ensuring highest customer satisfaction through effective communication and job execution.
  • Soliciting and relaying customer and technology performance feedback for the purposes of improving the quality and scope of Gecko’s products and services.
  • Following all in-field and shop safety procedures as well as identifying potential safety hazards.
  • Completing various administrative functions including expense reports, time sheets, and other paperwork covering activities in the field.
  • Maintaining compliance with all customer required background check and drug screening requirements

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Engineering field or 2+ years of relevant technical based work experience is preferred
  • Imaginative and open mind for problem solving
  • Strong communication & customer relations skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • Ability to travel (domestic & internationally) 75% of the time and up to 90% during peak times (inspections typically run 5 to 7 days)
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
  • Ability to meet physical requirements
  • A collaborative team member who takes pride in and embodies the company's values when interacting with customers on-site
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid TWIC card

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in multiple environments, including a machine shop, and field work performed in OSHA-confined spaces, at heights, and in multiple weather conditions including heat, rain, and cold.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to carry 50 pounds, for a distance up to 100 feet
  • Ability to climb stairs while carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push and/or pull up to 50 pounds consistently, for periods up to 12 hours per day
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and/or crawl repetitively
  • Ability to wear a respirator
