Global Data Ops & CI Team Lead, SC Planning (Secondment - 12 Months)
PfizerAbout the role
WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU
This is a 12-month secondment, with the potential to become a permanent position. The Global Data Ops & CI Team Lead is dedicated to managing and harmonizing the master data required by our global supply chain planning system. Reporting to the Global Data Lead for Supply Chain Planning, the Team Lead will head a centralized team of master data professionals. The Team Lead serves as the single point of accountability for all planning master data related to markets, External Supply production, and in-stock in locations.
The team is also responsible for end‑to‑end master data enablement across multiple transformation initiatives, including nGPS, NexGen Planning, Single Entry, Transportation, and site‑level optimizations and all related continuous improvement efforts. The position plays a critical role in ensuring data readiness, model alignment, and governance to support scalable, integrated planning solutions across the enterprise.
By centralizing these critical data responsibilities, the role ensures high-quality, standardized master data and common processes across regions, enabling more efficient end-to-end planning and reducing manual interventions. This position is pivotal to the NexGen Supply Planning transformation – moving from site-based planning to a horizontally integrated, AI-assisted network planning model – by providing the harmonized data foundation needed for automation and advanced analytics in supply chain planning.
HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT
Lead a Centralized Global Team: Manage and coach a globally distributed team of master data specialists and managers (including former RSSC and ES colleagues) now unified under the Supply Planning Data Intelligence organization. Foster a collaborative team culture and clear standard work practices to ensure business continuity in master data maintenance across all regions and external subcontractors.
Global Data Operations: Lead data preparation, cleansing, loading, and migration activities across implementation waves for multiple initiatives including nGPS and NexGen Planning; coordinating hypercare and cross‑functional forums; and operationalizing end‑to‑end master data management for planning. The role consolidates and documents planning master data configuration requirements, supports partial migrations between Maestro and SEPD, aligns FLEX and Planning data models, and drives site‑specific optimizations. Additionally, the role holds global approval accountability for all planning master data changes in Maestro.
End-to-End Master Data Ownership: Serve as the primary owner for all planning master data elements – such as lead times, lot sizes (MOQ), safety stock parameters, and sourcing rules – in the global planning system for markets, External Supply, and in stock locations, ensuring accurate, complete, and up-to-date master data to drive effective supply planning signals under current operating model.
Governance & Data Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce global data standards, governance policies, and change control processes for planning master data across the enterprise. Implement validation rules and quality checks (e.g. automated dashboards and reports) to continuously monitor data accuracy and integrity, swiftly addressing any data issues to maintain a “single source of truth” for planning parameters.
Global Process Harmonization: Standardize and document master data maintenance (System Care) processes across regions and subcontractors. Redesign or realign local “ways of working” to global best practices, eliminating site-by-site variations in how planning data is managed. By driving this harmonization, ensure that all regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC) and External Supply follow unified workflows and governance, thereby improving efficiency and consistency in master data management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between business and technology teams to ensure master data needs are understood and met. Work closely with network supply planners, site/market planners, External Supply teams, and digital/IT partners to coordinate data changes and resolve data issues rapidly. Communicate proactively with stakeholders at global and local levels, providing training and guidance so that end-users understand standardized processes and trust the accuracy of centrally maintained data.
Change Management & Continuous Improvement: Champion change management efforts related to planning master data. Drive the adoption of new data management tools and processes (e.g. the rollout of the Intelligent Data Factory for master data) in alignment with the NexGen Supply Planning strategy. Support impacted colleagues and business teams through training, coaching, and clear communication of benefits, shifting focus
