Job Description Summary:
The Coca-Cola company is looking for a Sr Manager in Sustainability to lead processes focused on the failife business including water, carbon, climate, packaging, and measurement.
As the fairlife Sustainability lead, you will play a pivotal role in connecting the sustainability efforts between fairlife and The Coca-Cola Company. You’ll collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to develop fairlife sustainability strategy, reduce carbon emissions, and promote responsible practices across our fairlife operations towards a net zero goal.
This position will report into the NAOU TI&S fairlife team. This team is an integrated team of fairlife and Coca-Cola employees, all focused 100% on the fairlife business..
What you will do for us:
- Holistic Thinking: Approach sustainability from a holistic perspective, considering the entire fairlife business ecosystem. Understand how sustainability impacts various aspects of our fairlife manufacturing, logistics, packaging, and agriculture.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the technical side of fairlife manufacturing processes. Be well-versed in sustainable manufacturing practices, logistics optimization, packaging innovations, and sustainable agriculture specific to the dairy industry.
- Measurement and Monitoring: Manage the overall measurement of sustainability data and goals across fairlife’s production plants, offices, and across the value chain. Integrate ESG reporting from fairlife into The Coca-Cola Company’s systems (KOSMOS).
- Drive Reduction Strategy: Work closely with the fairlife team to create overall strategy to achieve sustainability goals. Coordinate the overall measurement and reporting process. Drive KPIs. Support Coca-Cola Sustainability efforts and commitments. Drive fairlife commitments. Lead efforts to measure and reduce fairlife’s carbon footprint. Understand and manage Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
- Sustainability Landscape: Stay informed about sustainability trends, regulations, and laws in the United States, specifically within the dairy sector. Provide insights to fairlife’s leadership on emerging sustainability practices and opportunities.
- Sustainability Projects: Work closely with academia, industry partners, and external organizations to drive sustainability research, innovation, and best practices within the fairlife business. Manage sustainability projects with partners.
- Collaboration: Internally, the role involves working closely with various teams at fairlife, including technical, agricultural sustainability, and animal health and welfare teams. This collaboration ensures alignment and progress toward sustainability goals. The position also collaborates with Coca-Cola North America and Corporate on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and reporting.
- Lead Internal Sustainability Team: The role leads the internal fairlife sustainability technical team, which focuses on implementing sustainable practices and driving positive impact.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, or related roles, ideally within the TCCC system or dairy or industry.
- Strong knowledge of carbon reduction strategies, circular economy principles, and sustainable supply chain practices.
- Familiarity with KOSMOS, TCCC’s internal system for tracking and reporting sustainability metrics, is highly desirable.
- The candidate will use business acumen to build and understand business cases for sustainability projects.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with internal teams, external partners, and industry experts with both technical and non-technical audiences. The successful candidate should be able to convey complex sustainability concepts clearly.
- The ability to lead projects and programs is essential. Leadership skills will be valuable in driving sustainability initiatives.
- Creative thinking skills are necessary for developing innovative solutions to sustainability challenges.
- Passion for driving positive change and promoting sustainable practices within the dairy sector.
