Staff Environmental Scientist

We are hiring for an experienced Staff Environmental Scientist to join our at Pennoni on a full-time, direct basis and contribute to land development projects while based out of our office in the Haddon Heights, NJ area.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare Remedial Documents for NJDEP Site Remediation Program cases and Phase I / II Environmental Due Diligence Reports in accordance with regulatory standards and technical guidance.
- Manage field sampling activities in accordance with existing contracts and regulatory requirements in coordination with LSRP, and/or oversee and mentor junior staff conducting field sampling activities.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers, Scientists, Planners, and other professionals to assemble regulatory-compliant environmental plans & reports.
- Must be able to work with a small team and operate independently with the LSRP when needed.
- Work within scope, schedule, budgets and utilization goals.
- Project management, proposal preparation, budget preparation, QAQC, and mentorship may apply depending on the applicants experience and goals.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, or environmental science or a related field of study.
- 4-8 years in consulting with experience with NJDEP Site Remediation Program from due diligence through remedial action.
- Experience in responsibilities listed above, focusing on demonstrated ability in technical writing, attention to detail, and understanding of applicable regulations.
- Has understanding and experience with NJDEP technical requirements for site remediation, remedial report preparation, NJDEP SRRA form preparation, permit applications, etc. ASTM Standards, and due diligence reporting.
- Must be familiar with SI / RI concepts to direct field operations in coordination with the LSRP.
- Experience in preparing documents such as Phase I and II ESAs, PAs, SIRs, RIRs, RAWs, & RARs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required; knowledge of computer-based CADD or GIS a plus.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher required.
- Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills are a must, as well as the ability to thrive in a professional and team-oriented work environment.
This person will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management experience.
- Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.
- Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
TARGET SALARY RANGE: 75k-95k (per year)
