About the role

 DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for a Broadband Project Manager II to join our team. With limited guidance from manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated broadband engineering and digital equity related projects to ensure that goals and objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.

Essential Duties:

  • Establishes and maintains client relationship throughout project to ensure satisfaction.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine scope, timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Collaborates with team leadership and other executive stakeholders
  • Ongoing project risk assessment and risk mitigation 
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Reviews timesheets.
  • Develops/implements project plans/methodologies for complex projects varying between single and multi-discipline practices.
  • Confers with project staff and resource managers to outline workplan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Manages the resources of the project.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Perform analysis of project management development and success in order to align with company and broadband practice goals and strategies.
  • Reviews/collects status reports from project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares and conducts quality review of project reports for management, client, or others and performs cost management analysis.
  • May influence clients into winning work (new work added) for future projects.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies including the National Telecommunications and Information Association and the Federal Communications Commission.
  • Conducts safety meetings and training programs to ensure safety requirements are met.
  • Generates and/or approves purchase orders, billing, credits.
  • Occasional to moderate travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises employees and indirect external project staff (subconsultants).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in  Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or 7-10 years project management experience 
  • Experience in telecommunications industry preferred
  • Proven success managing complex projects
  • Project management certification or coursework preferred

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive hands-on experience managing broadband-related large-scale, complex programs and projects.
  • Solid understanding of project and program management methodologies
  • Proven track record of effective communication, both written and verbal, complemented by strong presentation skills. Ability to engage with internal teams, clients, subconsultants, and vendors.
  • Technical knowledge of broadband with an in-depth understanding of fiber optic, fixed and mobile wireless, cable, satellite and other telecommunications networks.
  • Experience managing outside plant construction projects highly desired.
  • Comprehensive background or understanding of broadband policy, federal funding programs, digital equity/opportunity, workforce development.
  • Excellent listening, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Creative thinker with the capacity to conceptualize innovative solution
  • Process-driven approach to work.
  • Demonstrated competence in managing change effectively
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, including Teams
  • A professional attitude with a strong passion for contributing to the advancement of America’s information infrastructure, leveraging expertise in wireline and wireless communications technologies.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $100,942- $157,643 in Harrisburg, PA. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, sk
