About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging Services, the Radiology Clerk is responsible for registering patients, answering and directing incoming phone calls, as well as providing any additional assistance to patients to ensure a safe and successful visit within the Diagnostic Imaging Department. The candidate must be able to process clients in an accurate, efficient and courteous manner, considering always the well being of the patients and coworkers in accordance with the mission and values of Nova Scotia Health. The Radiology Clerk will also perform document sorting and scanning. The candidate must hold patient confidentiality in the highest regard, be self motivated with the organizational skills necessary to perform the tasks associated with the registration area. The candidate must be able to work independently with the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
• Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent required
• Graduate of a post-secondary business or office administration program or equivalent plus successful completion of a recognized Medical Terminology course is required; Medical secretarial diploma is preferred
• Demonstrated experience in the NShIS ADM, ITS & CWS & BIS modules preferred
• Demonstrated competence in electronic communication, excellence in Microsoft Office products, including excel and word required
• Skill and accuracy in typing is required
• Meditech experience an asset
• Previous experience in a health care setting an asset
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
