Chief of Staff, Data Center
Responsibilities:
The Chief-of-Staff is a key member of the Data Center Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will be instrumental in providing (a) insights, (b) guidance, and (c) coordination to the SLT with a heavy focus on critical strategy and initiatives within the Data Center Playbook. This individual serves as the focal point for matters of collaboration among the Data Center leadership team and the principal point of coordination with adjacent business units. Highly influential, this position requires significant collaboration with other cross-functional senior leadership globally and Corporate Support Groups, in addition to strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead all levels through change.
Playbook Throughput: Become the focal point for Data Center strategy development and associated Playbook, as connected to the Enterprise strategy. This will be done through collaboration with various owners and functions to ensure clarity and understanding across all Data Center leaders. To effectively drive completion, this individual will assist owners with tactical plan development as needed. This may include adjusting the organizational structure to support change and improve playbook strategy execution.
Thought Leadership: Act as a member of the Data Center SLT. Substantial thought leadership is required to guide strategy and influence the direction of the business unit. Responsible for leading and executing select strategic initiatives and planning efforts that drive revenue growth, increase contribution margins, and improve operational efficiency across the business.
Complex Communication: Act as a focal point for senior-level communications for the Data Center business and as an extension of the business unit leader (for message framing, slide development, written communications, etc.); includes working closely with Corporate Communications to ensure appropriate messaging for critical deliverables (Data Center SLTs, One-Track, Quarterly Leadership Calls, Town Halls, All Hands Calls, QBRs, annual planning meetings, kickoff events, and other leadership forums), enhancing the business unit leader’s communications platform, and assessing the overall effectiveness of communications across the business.
Driving Initiatives: Collaborate with the broader team or in 1:1 settings with SLT members on specific initiatives and critical issues assigned to the Chief of Staff to drive progress, form overall recommendations for the business unit leader, and make final decisions where appropriate. Includes supporting key asks from Regional General Managers (RGMs), Sales/Commercial, and the supporting functions: Design & Construction, Site Selection, Global Services and HR/Finance/Legal.
SLT Support: Attend required business unit meetings and help drive the agenda (e.g., Data Center SLT meetings), ensuring efficient and prioritized use of leadership time. Actively participate in such meetings as needed. This role owns the Data Center leadership key event and meeting schedule.
Meeting Attendance: Attend various internal and customer meetings and functions with—or occasionally on behalf of—the business unit leader; ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken. (This includes meetings with enterprise customers, regional or support functions, corporate meetings, etc.)
