Physical Education Teacher - New Vision Middle School

REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to  significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Inland  Empire. We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of education and  other supportive partnerships. 

New Vision Middle School is looking for a Physical Education Teacher who will: 

● Innovative teaching style - able to work with collaborative groups in cooperative  learning and project-based learning that dominates curriculum. 

● Strong collaboration skills. Collaborate with teachers from multiple disciplines to  design curriculum and support student learning and success. 

● Background in technology, entrepreneurship, or innovative classroom teaching. ● Design and teach interdisciplinary curriculum with a focus on entrepreneurship  and technology. 

● Support students in interdisciplinary experiences (internships, projects, study  trips, etc.). 

● Collaborate with community partners in the classroom. 

● Experience with project-based learning: a dynamic classroom approach in which  students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a  

deeper knowledge. 

● Willing to go above and beyond. 

● Willing to try new things and learn through failures.

Additionally, experience in the following areas is helpful: 

● Experience teaching in an urban public school or charter school setting 

● Bilingual in Spanish is a plus 

● At least two years of experience with a proven track-record of high achievement  in the classroom preferred 

Minimum Requirements: 

● Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education required ● Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university 

● Master’s degree in subject matter field or Education preferred 

Physical demands 

● Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects ● Occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping and reaching for  extended periods of time 

● Occasional computer work including but not limited to typing
