Job Summary:
The Engineer V - Senior Project Engineer will apply thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects affecting his or her organization. This position will also apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. In addition, the Engineer V - Senior Project Engineer will keep informed of new methods and developments affecting his or her organization and recommends new practices or changes in emphasis of programs, while working on programs of limited complexity and scope.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead a program team for the organization
- Keep informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications
- Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficient with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Lead program meetings and make presentations
- Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent.
- 10+ years of prior experience.
- Commitment to life-long learning to stay updated on contemporary issues.
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
- Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO.
- Membership in a professional practice organization, national board member or officer, or national technical/policy committee member.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee the work of other consultants.
- Supervise a team of engineers and technicians.
- Plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects or an entire program.
- Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.
