LOCATION: Cedar Rapids, IA

As the Maintenance Planner, you will support the critical aspects of the maintenance department to ensure the continuous and ongoing operations of the plant. This position is responsible for planning and execution of the unit maintenance activities to effectively balance operating reliability against maintenance costs while meeting unit and plant goals for safety, productivity, and customer experience. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager.

What you will do:

  • Plan and schedule maintenance work by defining tasks, estimating resources, identifying safety requirements, and coordinating materials, tools, and labor.

  • Manage the maintenance planning process, including backlog management, job prioritization, and integration with production schedules.

  • Utilize systems like SAP and Prometheus to create job plans, enter requisitions, maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), and support procurement processes.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards, including Management of Change (MOC) requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities.

  • Facilitate planning meetings and provide reporting, including weekly scheduling sessions and updates to management.

  • Support continuous improvement through post-job reviews, Root Cause Problem Elimination (RCPE), and acting as a backup for the Maintenance Manager.

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, including shutdowns and the creation of job plans for a manufacturing environment, including food, pharmaceutical, or refinery industries.

  • Knowledge of SAP and Prometheus systems as it pertains to maintenance and operations a plus.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft software, including MS Project, preferred.

  • Use of KPIs for decision making and corrective action.
