Annual Salary: $67,742.74

Paid Bi-Weekly: $2,605.49

*Qualifying shifts may be eligible for shift differential.

The FDVA Nursing State Veterans’ Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.

Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant’s lender.

Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.

 

*Direct care Registered Nurse applicants that have not been employed by the FDVA in the last 12 months may be eligible for a $3,500.00 sign-on bonus. OPS and non-direct care positions are not eligible for a sign-on bonus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
  • Must possess a current AHA BLS CPR certification.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Experience working with Matrix Care.
  • Experience in a long-term care facility (nursing home; skilled nursing; or assisted living facility).
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with medication administration.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • The incumbent is responsible for providing quality professional care to veteran residents to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Provide initial and ongoing assessment of the resident population. Perform assigned duties to include but not limited to administration of medications and treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident, completing accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident’s status and pr
