Job Description

Job Summary

This role functions as a subject matter and technical expert in Electric Transmission Construction.

 

Provides inputs to and reviews SAP project schedules. Utilizes deliverables from the Project Manager’s team to develop logistics, mobilize resources and assign work activities for internal and external resources. Utilizes Conceptual Phase Request information to prepare detailed cost estimates by discipline of work to be performed. Review invoices and disbursements, ensuring compliance with Expenditure Control Policy. Develops detailed scope of work, schedules, milestones and provides to Supply Chain Management for use in the RFX bid process. Functions in a key role related to purchase order creation and interpretation, contract management/enforcement, change order processing and requisition preparation. Provides a direct conduit between Engineering and Construction for adherence to design standards. Promotes safety through on-site observations and coaching of construction resources. Tasks will include:

 

• Drawing review
• Technical and project support
• Project scheduling and coordination with multiple DE departments
• Facilitate pre-bid and pre-construction evaluations, and site walk down meetings.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires extensive directly related experience (substation or heavy construction):
 

• 11+ years with HS/GED;
• 9+years with related Associate’s degree; or
• 7+ years with related Bachelor’s degree;

- Advanced knowledge of construction, operations and maintenance of substation (ie: switching, tagging and grounding) concrete construction;
- Strong knowledge of contract administration and OSHA safety standard;
- Strong knowledge of computer programs;
- Strong written and verbal communication;
- Project Management, Public relations, ability to read and understand technical specification, work independently with analytical and conceptual thinking, ability to adapt to changing conditions and demands.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education
