Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Operations Director to work in our Orlando office, leading Operations for our Premiere Beauty shows, and contributing to CosmoProf North America shows as needed. The right candidate will be the ultimate team player and captain as someone who is able to lead the charge in processes and staff development. 

Duties:

  • Mentor and train team members, provide performance reviews, and guide staff on their career path.
  • Manage high-complexity events and high-touch sponsorship opportunities.
  • Participate in industrious and innovative teams to create Premiere in-person events. Lead a team of dotted line reports to produce extraordinary events. 
  • Travel within the US executing site selection and inspection trips and producing in-person trade events. 
  • Help develop overall look, feel of events, and coordinate signage and graphic plans. Order graphics, manage and track the creative process and ensure accurate placement of graphics onsite.  
  • Communicate the big picture and the smallest details to your contracted vendors (venues, general services contractors, A/V and IT providers, caterers, decorators) to build every component of the client experience. 
  • Develop and manage the show production costs, track spending, identified areas of cost savings, provides monthly forecasts, and pays applicable vendors, all within budget.  
  • Request and review vendor contracts. Collaborate with legal and the operations and procurement team to ensure no detail of fine print is missed. 

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 6 - 10 years of experience in trade show, conference and/or event experience required.  
  • Background in tradeshow / event / conference operations or with a general service contractor or convention facility.  
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal. time management and organization skills with experience in overlapping deadlines and managing complex projects or events.
  • Floor plan development and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.
  • Prior experience working within and managing a budget.

  • Familiarity with events entailing complex rigging and/or heavy floor loads.
  • Running production with highly creative teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. 
  • Experience with both in-person and digital or hybrid events. 
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability. 
  • Knowledge / proficiency in Adobe creative programs (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.). 
  • Prior experience with Map Your Show, a2z, EXPOCAD or similar platform is preferred.  
  • Prior experience in sponsorship fulfillment.
