JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa - Security Manager

JW Marriott Crete is seeking an experienced and motivated Security Manager to join our team. The Security Manager will lead and oversee the resort’s security and lifeguard operations, ensuring the safety and protection of guests, associates, and property. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent crisis management ability, and a proven track record of implementing effective security strategies in line with company policies and Greek legislation.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, supervise, and manage security and lifeguard personnel
• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and emergency response procedures
• Oversee daily security operations, budget control, and compliance with national regulations and brand standards
• Conduct risk assessments, gather intelligence, and apply preventive measures
• Coordinate responses to incidents, emergencies, and high-risk events
• Collaborate with local authorities, police, fire services, and national agencies
• Ensure associates are fully trained in security, health, and safety procedures
• Stay up to date with industry developments and new technologies in security management
• Prepare reports, incident documentation, and strategic initiatives for senior management

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Security Manager in the hospitality industry, or 10 years in a senior security role (team leader and above)

Previous experience with luxury international hotel brands

Security Officer’s Diploma (IEK) or equivalent technical certification

Valid Work License as Security Personnel (Hellenic State), KEMEA certification, and Class B Driver’s License

Strong leadership, organizational, and crisis management skills

Excellent communication skills, fluent in Greek and English (spoken and written)

Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective under pressure

Knowledge of health, safety, hygiene, and security regulations

Physically fit and able to maintain an athletic condition
