Job Description
AECOM is looking for a Specialist, Internal Communications for its Americas Regions Internal Communications team. This role oversees the production of strategic employee communications, supporting key business priorities and ensuring our people are connected, informed and engaged. Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, this person will engage with the U.S West, U.S. East and Latin America, and Canada Regions to support and advance internal initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a reliable and enthusiastic team player who is excited about joining an organization responsible for delivering many of the most iconic and impactful infrastructure projects around the world.
This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules with an expectation to go into an AECOM office periodically and can be based out of New York, NY or Clifton, NJ.
Job Responsibilities:
- Edit, build, target, test and issue monthly newsletters and executive communications using Poppulo, an internal communications management tool
- Support internal content development, including editorial calendars and project trackers.
- Regularly update and improve internal communications channels by keeping current with latest advances and trends.
- Support efforts to ensure messages reach target audiences and use KPIs to improve engagement.
- Write, edit and proofread communications materials.
- Coordinate translation and deployment of translated materials via our French translation service
- Develop strong relationships with internal clients to provide communications support.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, journalism or related discipline + 2 years of professional, corporate communications-related experience, preferably in a global, multi-site company or a demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
- Strong written and oral communications skills, including copyediting and familiarity with AP style.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to synthesize complex materials and to craft creative, persuasive language and compelling messaging for a variety of global audiences.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and work effectively on a variety of projects concurrently in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven ability to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work products.
- Self-starter capable of assuming responsibility for several tasks at once with little supervision.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Sharepoint, Creative Suite and Poppulo knowledge is preferred.

- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $65K - $83K USD annually.
