About the role

Health Unit Coordinator– Labor and Delivery Services at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center – Spokane, WA 

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Women's Services/Nurse Manager, the HUC/Birth Certificate Clerk is responsible for obtaining the necessary information to complete the Legal Birth Certificate, preparing and processing the birth data for entry into the Department of Vital Statistics state computer system, completing the Complimentary Birth Certificate for the parents.  He/She also files new birth information with the State of Washington when a previous birth has been misfiled.  He/She maintains a daily birth log of all deliveries, correct infants name and statistics so Medical Records may update Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center Meditech computer system with current information.

Shift: Per Diem, Night shifts, Part-time position.

Required qualifications:

  • General office and/or former employer(s)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training in Medical terminology, business or secretarial training

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
