Project Specialist - Preservation and Maintenance Facility (PMF)

The Project Specialist position is part of the onsite logistics at a GEODIS customer location; This position will execute the day-to-day operations of project work associated with the Production and Operations team that supports each of BP’s offshore assets, in conjunction with each assets maintenance squad related to outage- fix/ maintenance. The Project Specialist is an essential part of the team and ensures the smooth flow of materials necessary for all projects through working with onshore/offshore teams, PMF/CrossDock, ILVC, suppliers, and various other stakeholders.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The points below highlight the Project Specialist duties:
- Performs work and creates value by executing policies and procedures of material coordinator and stager operation in an efficient and productive manner.
- Executes priorities as directed by the Facility Lead.
- Project Specialists ensure the steady flow of Materials necessary for projects to ensure adequate materials are delivered at the correct time to enable the execution of the project in full as needed due to limited storage space for raw materials, coordinators help.
- Tracks inbound supply from vendor to cross-dock, (expedites if needed)
- Performs tasks to ensure the products/goods are received from cross-dock, sorted segregated, and stored in a special area at the PMF for the project.
- Processes and or manage internal warehouse transaction (Material transfer request)
- Create, Plan, and manage and executes: Pull/Pick list and ship (outbound warehouse activity) to meet project-requested delivery date (in alignment with transport planning).
- Specialists monitor materials flow to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Specialists observe trends and customer requests to create and maintain project schedule. Keeping track of operations requirements and purchasing expectations helps Specialists make sure the right material is available on time for the project.
- Manages project supply problems/ discrepancies requiring action and conducts root cause and corrective actions.
- Participation and or organize: SPA (Single point of accountability in Weekly project call. Provide status against target and transparency to issues/concerns related to project plan.
- Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns.
- Project specialists act as liaisons between Operations / Projects and other departments. They receive project plans and additional information to determine timelines and necessary materials. They also work to coordinate suppliers on an “as required” basis.

- Communicate with employees and other department supervisors and managers on a regular basis.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working in a materials management role.
- Minimal travel may be required, if any at all, for training
- As needed to meet with team or visit customer facility.
- Has theoretical knowledge of distribution concepts as well as knowledge of best practices in the area of warehousing and physical distribution.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management systems & processes MS Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel,
- Some experience in Warehousing and/or Manufacturing area
- Order Fulfillment and Shipment
- Hazardous material certification
- Experience using SAP to manage inventory and logistics.
