Job Description
DEFINITION:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting the Governor’s Office and Secretary of Energy & Environment’s Office (SEEO) in developing and implementing of Energy policy:
· Providing general guidance to the Governor’s Office and SEEO on introduced legislation and legislation that is eventually sent to the Governor for approval.
· Assisting the Governor’s communications staff as requested in developing and/or reviewing initial drafts of the Governor’s energy-specific speeches and press releases.
· Assisting the Governor’s policy and communications staff as requested in preparing draft correspondence on behalf of the Governor or SEEO on energy issues.
· Conducting general energy& environment research, memoranda, or briefing materials to support the Governor and SEEO.
· Participating in the annual rulemaking processes for our cabinet agencies and providing the Governor’s Office with recommendations once final rules are submitted for approval.
Assisting the Governor’s Office and SEEO with the implementation of the Oklahoma First Energy Plan and other strategic energy initiatives:
Assisting the SEEO with communications and outreach:
· Delivering presentations on behalf of the Governor and SEEO at local and national energy & environmental conferences, symposiums, and forums.
· Assisting the SEEO with interviews, media requests, and developing presentation materials.
Providing general administrative and intraoffice support:
· Providing general legal support to the SEEO, including drafting and reviewing interagency agreements and memorandums of understanding..
· Preparing monthly cabinet reports to the Governor’s Office.
· Assisting with the development and maintenance of website content.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Depp understanding of the relevant policy area, exceptional leadership and communication skills, strategic thinking,
strong analytical capabilities, political acumen, ability to manage complex operations, expertise in stakeholder management, and the capacity to act as a trusted advisor to the Secretary
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree
