Legal Counsel

Stream-Flo USA LLC is currently seeking a full-time permanent Legal Counsel to work with our team in Houston, TX.

Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and services to the Stream-Flo Group of Companies, with a focus on its US companies, primarily through drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts. This position will provide effective and customer-focused legal services to the Stream-Flo Group, with a business mindset.

Key position functions include:

• Draft, negotiate and interpret various types of complex contracts, to achieve organizational goals while minimizing risk.
• Draft, review, and manage correspondence between project stakeholders.
• Negotiate with clients, partners, and subcontractors.
• Provide business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy and guidance.
• Provide ongoing legal advice and support to various departments and business units including the executive team.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research in support of business initiatives and company compliance and to enhance the company’s legal knowledge base.
• Analyze disputes and claims to assess entitlement and path to resolution.
• Manage legal processes and systems.
• Coordinate, liaise with and manage outside counsel and consultants.
• Assist with corporate filings and other compliance activities.
• Undertake any other duties, functions, or services consistent with the role of Legal Counsel as required.

 

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

• 5+ years’ experience as Legal Counsel
• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• Experience working both in a law firm and as in-house counsel is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with oil and gas industry is considered an asset, as well as a broad understanding of international commercial business issues.
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters.
• Willingness to learn and advise in other general legal subject matter areas as needed.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills, highly motivated, and with high organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Team player with the ability to work well with internal colleagues, outside legal advisors, and business clients cooperatively and efficiently.
