Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced BIM Specialist to work remotely or be based in Los Angeles, California for East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit project.

JOB INFORMATION:

While the position is primarily for East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project, AECOM has an impressive backlog of significant transportation projects in the Greater Los Angeles area and transit/rail projects across West Region and provides exceptional opportunity for professional growth. This position is based out of our Downtown Los Angeles office location and requires full time office presence through the design duration of the project, expected for 18 months.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading BIM coordination with specific focus on utilities
  • Creating and maintaining BIM Models for proposed and existing utility pipe network and associated appurtenances – underground power, storm drainage system, sanitary sewer system, gas system, telecommunications/data systems.
  • Leading and assisting the CAD technician and work closely with the engineering team to implement the BIM requirement.
  • Ensuring 100% BIM compliance on all projects. Take lead in enhancing the digital delivery within utilities team.
  • Collaboratively working with various engineering disciplines, participating in model coordination meetings, and aspiring to deliver high quality, clash free models.
  • Coordinating models with internal and external parties.
  • Investigating model constructability issues and propose solutions.
  • Creating new library components for utility infrastructure scope, as needed.
  • Providing training and technical guidance to CAD technician and engineers in the use of the latest BIM tools.
  • Staying up to date with advancements in BIM technology and industry standards.
  • Adhering to project CADD standards for setting up base files, detail sheets and managing reference files.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years experience in Revit, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Navisworks software
  • 5+ years of related design experience in Rail and Transit Systems, preferred.
  • Experience with production of engineering design drawings in civil infrastructure business and detailed understanding of the utilities scope within a project.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, BIM 360, Projectwise
  • Must have supervisory experience, and extensive experience of working with CAD / Production team.

  • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $106,800 to $197,580.
