Position Summary

As a Scrum Master / Product Owner for the Algo squad at Prose, you will be in charge of translating business needs into iterations and user stories, and will ensure a smooth coordination and communication between the Algo stakeholders and the Engineering squad. You will also ensure the squad backlog is maintained and prioritized, synchronization with our other engineering squads is timely and efficient, and ensure the Technical roadmap is in line with Prose’s goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

Ensures that the Squad (5-7 engineers) is involved at the earliest stage in the project process: 

• Define Requirements: Collaborate with business experts to define requirements for algorithm projects.
• Helps streamline communication and synchronization between the Algo squad and other squads for cross projects
• Own the Algorithm Roadmap: Collaborate with algorithm stakeholders to gather requirements, define objectives, and prioritize topics.

Maintains the team’s backlog:

• Own Algo backlog, responsible for breaking down projects into iterations and User Stories, in collaboration with Stakeholders and Algo Lead
• Ensures priorities are consistent between stakeholders and Developers
• Gives visibility to PMs and stakeholders on progress (quantitatively and qualitatively)
• Proactively identify and address potential issues to ensure timely execution and meet deadlines.
• Prioritizes Algo initiatives and roadmap

Organizes and facilitates Agile Rituals and Delivery processes

• Organizes and facilitates Agile rituals (ie: Squad daily, Sprint Plannings, Demos, Retrospectives, …)
• Monitors the processing and progress of continuous improvement actions
• Is responsible for the application of agile best practices and delivery processes

Ensures Quality

• Makes sure the delivered implementation is functional and up to specs
• Performs QA

 

Key Candidate Requirements

• You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (Digital Project Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Squad Lead, etc)
• Excellent communication skills both in English and French
• Project Management: ability to animate and drive a team to achieve technical projects in a defined time frame
• Interpersonal skills: a good balance between diplomacy and assertiveness in order to resolve business and technical conflicts and make the project move forward in a multicultural environment
• Good listening skills and capacity to federate a team toward collective goals
• Strong acquaintance with the Developer function
• E-Commerce culture is a plus for the role
• Experience in QA
• Good knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to share best practices within the team and cross-teams
• Problem-solving mindset to bring continuous improvement
• Flexible mindset to adapt to new constraints in a fast-paced environment

The anticipated base salary range for this role is 45,000€ to 55,000€ annually (+ variable bonus). Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
