Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.
The 5NW Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializes in post-operative vascular and thoracic medical services, including the placement of chest tubes and arterial bypasses. These patients have been stepped down from the ICU but still require a higher level of monitoring and care than a medical-surgical unit. As a Clinical Technician on this team, you will find a culture of respect, mutual support, and reliability. Here, you will assist in providing quality and safe care for the patient during their time of treatment. Every caregiver fills an essential role, and your efforts will help further facilitate the efficient and compassionate delivery of patient care. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying nights from 6:00PM – 6:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and inserting urinary Foley catheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Complete an internal training program within two weeks of hire.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
