We are pleased to announce an opening for an MDA Cyber and System Security Engineer at the Engineer III level who will join our Engineering Services Team in Huntsville, AL, and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, and space control marketspaces. Qualified candidates will be part of an exceptional team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be providing technical support for the MDA Technical, Engineering, Advisory and Management Support (TEAMS)-Next Specialized Engineering Analyses (SEA) contract. The unique, highly qualified SEA Team is critical to ensuring that MDA can rapidly develop and deploy Missile Defense System capabilities to defeat advanced missile threats by aggressively pursuing advanced concepts and technologies for leap-ahead capability in directed energy, hypersonic missile defense, radiation hardened electronics, space-based sensors, and Israeli defense systems. The SEA Team provides comprehensive Missile Defense System Developmental Test analyses, future Missile Defense System architecture modeling and design, advanced technology analyses, and specialized engineering support to improve the development, testing, and fielding of cybersecure and tamper-proof upgrades to Missile Defense System Elements.
nSI has an opening for a talented Cyber/System Security Engineer supporting the MDA Cyber Engineering Director (CEY) in implementing new cyber and technology protection capability across the Missile Defense System. Activities include supporting Government cyber engineering activities to guide development of robust new system cyber protection capabilities and efforts to ensure U.S. critical technology is protected against reverse engineering threats.
The selected candidate will provide direct engineering and analysis support to the MDA Cyber Engineering Director. Duties include:
- Formulate cyber engineering assessment needs and cyber test objectives, establish cyber test plans, and participate in cyber test execution
- Assess mitigation plans to correct cyber deficiencies and system-level cyber risks
- Participate in MDA engineering working groups to assess proposed Missile Defense System engineering changes for cyber engineering impacts
- Analyze new cybersecurity systems engineering changes to Missile Defense System development programs
- Participate in MDA Systems Engineering Technical Reviews and Technical Interchange meetings to assess proposed engineering changes for cyber engineering impacts
- Provide engineering services for the development of necessary engineering analysis and documentation to ensure reverse engineering threats to U.S. critical technology can be responsibly mitigated during Requirements generation and derivation, Specification, Design, Integration, and Test
- Translate DoD Anti-Tamper policy into weapon system requirements, specifications, and design
- Prepare technical reports and briefings for senior leadership
- Support MDA’s technical engineering review process and conduct objective engineering evidence reviews
Basic Qualifications (Engineer III):
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or computer science.
- At least 7 years of full-time professional experience in a technical field related to missile defense and/or technical analysis of a complex Department of Defense (DoD) weapon system.
- Must be eligible to obtain or have an active SECRET clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Must be able to work at our customer site on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least five years in cybersecurity or system security engineering. Cybersecurity/system security engineering experience should include review of system designs from a cybersecurity standpoint, support of system developmental and/or operation cyber testing, and developing and conducting briefings to management/leadership.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and MS Office automation tool proficiency.
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency Engineering processes and cyber risk methodologies.
- Ability to attain a Comptia Security+ or ISC2 CISSP certification
