The Helmet Vision Systems team is looking for a co-op!

This position is for a Systems Engineering Co-op on the Helmet Vision Systems team in the Vision and Sensor Systems organization. The Helmet Vision Systems team provides situational awareness capabilities to rotary wing, fixed wing, and surface customers in Government Systems markets. The team develops helmet mounted displays and digital night vision products by integrating sensors, processing and display capabilities to meet specific platform requirements. The HVS team transitions technologies from research and development into full production rate, qualified products.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Support the engineering effort to produce, test, troubleshoot, repair, and deliver helmet vision systems solutions

  • Update, markup, review, and release drawings and test procedures

  • Investigate issues seen during testing and qualification

  • Learn what it is like to be an engineer!

What You Will Learn:

  • Testing and qualification of a fielded product

  • Documentation process requirements

  • How an end-user utilizes our product

  • How a fighter helmet works!

Qualification You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with military avionics and rotary wing aircraft missions

  • Experience with hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
