Job Title: Medical Assistant
Department: Women's Health / OB/GYN
Location: Casey Medical Building
Hours Per Week: 40 scheduled weekly hours
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 hour variable shift
SUMMARY:
Supports physicians and healthcare professionals by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient operation of the medical facility
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives patients and their families and directs them to the appropriate place.
Answers telephones promptly and politely.
Schedules appointments
Files pertinent information within patient’s records
Obtains insurance prior authorizations
Inputs charges on patient accounts
Verifies patient insurance upon registration
Billing
Obtains & documents vital signs on patients
Acts as a chaperone for the provider when needed
Obtains & document patient weights
Assist physician with minor procedures such as suture removal
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent & at least 6 months of clinical experience as a nursing assistant or related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

PAY RANGE:
$18.01 - $24.34The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
