About the role

Description

The AASPI research scientist will be responsible for maintaining and improving the software framework for the AASPI consortium. This includes developing new algorithms and functionalities, as well as maintaining and improving upon existing ones.   This position will also be responsible in consortium member support and training, as well as working to recruit new sponsors.  The research scientist will be expected to conduct research and publish results, as well as bring in additional funding for AASPI.

 

Since your salary is funded by the AASPI consortium, your position is also contingent, in part, upon the continued receipt of these funds. We expect your position to be funded for a minimum of three years (until December 31, 2028), and we will notify you if this changes. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

Ph.D. in Geophysics from an accredited university.

Minimum of 2 years post-doc or professional experience.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and seismic attributes for reservoir characterization.

Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, FORTRAN 90, and C++

Experience developing AI models using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras

 

PREFERRED:

Strong knowledge of the Attribute Assisted Seismic Processing and Interpretation (AASPI) Framework.

Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

Publication record primarily focused on AI applications and seismic reflection geophysics.
