This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently looking for a qualified candidate to serve as an Senior Analyst, Engineering, at our Clyde, OH facility, this role will be onsite.

 

This position will work as part of a team to complete kaizen projects to attack losses within Clyde Operations. The successful candidate will work within the Stainless Steel Basket department as a part of a team responsible for executing productivity projects, process improvement projects and using advanced tools to solve complex problems. The successful candidate will interact with Maintenance, lead Engineering Technicians and Setup, as well as outside vendors to support kaizen work. He or she will also create purchase orders for components. Assist in scheduling, tracking, auditing AM and PM work. Some weekend work may be necessary.

 

Your responsibilities will include

 

 

  • Supporting and working projects through all project phases (P,D,C,A)

  • Support production day to day to achieve plant/department metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People Development using Whirlpools Leadership Model

  • Complete ownership of existing equipment and future equipment entering the Department

  • Develop creative solutions and lead capital projects that support the long term strategy of the Clyde operation.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities utilizing the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) methodology in support of plant/department metrics. The person in this role will support our WCM implementation with specific targets to meet.

  • Perform root cause analysis based on data to eliminate losses

  • Solving problems and finding reliable technical solutions for the application

  • Collaborate, order, and assure proper implementation of new process & equipment

  • Creating ideas for new designs, cost reduction and quality improvement projects

  • Cooperating with other functions (design, industrial engineering)

  • Demonstrate project management skills to drive projects through the design, testing, and implementation phase in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate prototype build plans to evaluate design concepts through physical lab testing

Minimum requirements

 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 

4+ years of manufacturing experience

  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels of the organization

  • Superior organizational skills and dedication to completing and leading projects in a timely manner

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work

  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • Background in engineering or process/product engineering

  • WCM experience and can collaborate with multiple pillars

  • Understanding and problem solving expertise in laser welding processes and Basket Transformation

  • OPEX ( 6 sigma ) tools and the ability to apply them in order to establish manufacturing processes (Green Belt / Black Belt)
