The Analyst will be part of Global Markets Corporate Banking team that is responsible for Account Management of the residential mortgage originator industry. The Analyst will support Account Management in making approval recommendations regarding deal structure and exposure amounts and complete due diligence and credit analysis on current and prospective clients. The Analyst will be responsible for a diversified set of lending products, largely structuring of non-bank residential mortgage originator trading and warehouse financing and Global Markets products (e.g. FX / treasury products, cash management & corporate cards, commodities, investment management, securitization, leasing, Trade Finance products, etc.) to BMO Capital Markets clients. The Analyst will further support Account Management in a variety of other monitoring and portfolio management responsibilities.
- Research and analyze financial and operating information relating to companies and industries.
- Prepare concise, accurate and well-reasoned written credit applications for both new and existing transactions for presentation to Credit Risk.
- Assess financial soundness of counterparties including appropriate debt levels, debt service, and repayment capabilities.
- Seeks to develop an understanding of client needs and outcomes.
- Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.
- Liaise with Global Markets areas and with various lines of business and operational areas of the Bank as required.
- Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
- Applies technical concepts and understands implication of work to client/transaction.
- Develops an understanding of and proficiency in using all required systems and models.

Qualifications:
- Has up to 3 years of relevant experience within investment and/or corporate banking unit.; or
- Undergraduate degree has academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with an outstanding academic achievement.
- Excellent analytical skills. Highly skilled in building complex financial models.
- Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
- Skilled in creating financial and statistical presentations.
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

The base salary is $90,000.00 USD

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
