About the role
Required Skills
- Minimum 21 years of age
- 10+ years of culinary experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role such as Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Current ServSafe Manager Certification
- Strong culinary skills across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
- Experience designing menus and leading a culinary program from concept to execution
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with food costing, inventory management, and ordering
- Ability to lead a culinary team with professionalism and composure
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods as required
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and peak-season schedules
General Responsibilities
Job will include but not be limited to the following:
- Lead all culinary operations at West Creek Ranch including menu planning, preparation, and execution of guest and associate meals
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet West Creek Ranch standards
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen associates while fostering a collaborative team culture
- Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Coordinate meals for retreats, events, cookouts, and private gatherings
- Collaborate with ranch leadership and hospitality teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
- Support overall ranch operations by maintaining a positive, solutions-oriented approach to hospitality
Kitchen Operations
Menu Development
- Develop menus that reflect the ranch setting while accommodating dietary needs and retreat schedules
- Plan meals for multi-day retreats, special dinners, and ranch events
- Inventory and Purchasing
- Maintain kitchen inventory and manage ordering of food and supplies
- Build relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure consistent quality and service
- Food Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health department standards and food safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
Team Leadership
- Staff Development
- Train and mentor kitchen associates to maintain high culinary and hospitality standards
- Provide clear direction and constructive feedback to support team development
- Collaboration
- Work closely with ranch leadership and operations teams to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and accountability within the kitchen
- Collaborate with Executive Chefs at other properties across AMB West
Recruiting and Hiring
- Communicating with culinary applicants and conducting interviews
- Assist HR in overseeing associate onboarding process
