The Commercial Manager directs and coordinates activities of both customer and graphic service departments in providing customers support and service in conjunction with sales and production personnel.
Qualifications- Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly responsible for management of both non-exempt and exempt employees.
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, rewarding/disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Supervises Graphics operations, equipment, software and pre-press needs for the maintenance of continued quality and continuity of order art preparation.

Coordinates liaison services between management, production, sales, customers and vendors.
Assigns Graphics personnel to respective orders based on production scheduling to respective area or stage within the art department.
Recommends upgrades to computer equipment or new purchases as well as providing adequate justification for such purchases
Responsible for establishing, maintaining and training on all policies and standard operating procedures relating to customer service, graphics and estimating departments.
Responsible for overseeing all customer related pricing requests to include review of business potential while taking into consideration profitability and efficiencies.
Review new and unique job opportunities with Technical Services/Graphics to ensure the project is within our means of producing and ensuring all SOP’s are followed to successfully complete.
Review current business to determine alternate considerations which can be made to increase overall job performance.
Negotiates settlement of claims for which company is responsible within limits set forth by management.
Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, managing expenditures.
Develop, update and prepare presentations in order to conduct meetings with customers either on site or at customer location.
Review all customer complaints concerning invoicing or service rendered.
Responsible for coordinating with planning to ensure product is provided to customer on time and/or communicating with the customer when needed.
Provides assistance/advice to all departments as needed.
Organizes special projects as assigned or as needed.
Complies with all quality assurance, safety and company procedures.
- Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college/university; or two years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills/Aptitudes:
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions and safety rules. Ability to write reports, procedures, manuals and letters. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, vendors, and employees of the company as well as respond to questions from managers, customers and employees.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference, fractions, percents, ratios, and proportions.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to understand artwork and the facilities capabilities for proper pre-flight concepts and communicate to customer(s) if/when needed if artwork is not in compliance.
Must be PC literate.
