Extrusion Lead - The Toro Company

Under the general direction of Extrusion Supervisor, provides leadership and day to day operation of the shift.

• Responsible for leading a team of extrusion technicians.    
• Assist and provides technical support as needed to meet OEE.
• Tracks efficiencies, quality, and scrap.
• Adheres to all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conducts/assist with production change overs as necessary.
• Follows established procedures and protocols for production processes.
• Ensures products meet Quality criteria.
• Performs and assists during scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot product defects and incidents which contribute too poor Quality and downtime.
• Ensures personnel are conducting all quality checks correctly.
• Ensure personnel are conducting duties and assignments as required by job description.
• Communicates with Supervisor and Engineering team when there are high and excessive downtime situations.
• Maintains and improves current 5S system to ensure clean and orderly work environment.
• Assist in proper training of personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned or are not included here but are within the context of duties defined.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or G. E. D. equivalency and a minimum of 2-5 years-related experience in a manufacturing or Extrusion environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Understand extrusion basics.
• High sense of urgency.
• Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers, and must possess excellent follow-up skills.
• Ability to work overtime and off shifts when required.
• Ability to promote a professional work environment with a focus on respect and trust.
• Good Knowledge of Company and Safety policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters and good working relationships with Managers, Supervisors and fellow employees
• Excellent problem solving skills are required.
• Must have excellent follow-up skills in order to thoroughly complete assigned tasks.
