This versatile position offering exposure to many aspects of the Copeland business will be responsible for assisting in Copeland's monthly close and consolidation process, financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting), and various technical accounting topics. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, and Consolidations. During the month-end close, consolidation and reporting processes, the role will also work closely with the FP&A, HFM Administrators, Tax, Treasury, and Corporate Accounting teams.
As a Financial Reporting and Consolidations Accountant/Senior Accountant, You Will:
- Assist with month-end close procedures, analyze intercompany eliminations, and work closely with the business unit as needed based on analysis and reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP financial statements.
- Provide research and document conclusions on technical accounting topics such as debt refinancing, hedge accounting, lease accounting, and more.
- Critically analyze accounting and consolidation issues that occur on an ad hoc basis and provide a recommended course of action for the company
- Be knowledgeable regarding consolidation issues, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
- Ensure complete and accurate financial data in the consolidation process.
- Prepare certain consolidated account reconciliations to assist in the monthly close process.
- Assist in preparing reports to support internal reporting packages for leaders and executives using HFM and other reporting systems.
- Work with other Enterprise teams to achieve the Company’s Finance transformation goals.
- Assist with all other accounting activities, such as ad hoc analysis in a variety of areas.
- Fully support Company goals to drive continuous improvement and operational enhancements as necessary to support a standardized global financial consolidation and financial reporting process.
- Consistently be aware of opportunities for process efficiencies and improvements.
- Work to achieve goals set annually for continual professional development.
- Contribute to pre-IPO readiness activities.
Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements:
This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 2+ years of relevant work experience showing progression in areas of responsibilities.
- Advanced MS Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work with multiple team members and groups to improve the overall close process and assist in streamlining the close process.
- Experience driving process improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and detail-orientation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effectively interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management.
- Ability to work independently in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Meets deadlines, multi-tasks efficiently and manages individuals effectively.
