General Notes

This position will support a clinical trial funded by the National Cancer Institute. Working conditions include: in-office presence Monday – Friday from 9am - 5pm, meeting with research team weekly, and coordinating participant activity across multiple participating sites.  

This is a one year fixed-term position.

Purpose

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail; show proficiency in managing multiple tasks and working both independently as well as with a team. The Social Science/Humanities Research Associate I will be provided with training in clinical assessments and will gain experience in general research administration and the preparation of publications and conference presentations. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating recruitment efforts for an ongoing clinical trial that examines a community based aerobic exercise intervention for smoking cessation in adults with high anxiety sensitivity.

  • Organizing and overseeing data collection and study protocols, including management, cleaning, and preparation of data collected via online survey platforms (REDCap, R-Studio, Qualtrics).

  • Interfacing with research and clinical staff to maintain effective communication regarding participant scheduling, data management, and quality control.

  • Conducting clinical interviews and preparing assessments.

  • Maintaining and revising IRB protocols and assisting with research compliance reports and procedures.

  • Supervision of undergraduate students conducting data entry and other tasks.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.  

  • Prior research experience with human subjects (including experience as a student).  

  • Fluent in English and Spanish. 

  • Experience with REDCap. 


Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior research experience in a psychology lab.  

  • Experience with large data sets and comfortable with data management.  

  • Experience with other software such as R-Studio and Qualtrics. 


Salary Range

$31,200 - $48,000

Working Conditions

In-office presence Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm
