Job Duties

The Assistant Director of Testing Services will assist in management of the Testing Center to ensure the quality and integrity of test delivery and the testing environment in accordance with University standards, NCTA standards and national test sponsor regulations. The Assistant Director will provide a variety of test and survey administrative support activities to faculty and staff for assessment of classroom instruction and university assessment activities. The Assistant Director will provide training and information sessions to faculty and staff as needed. The Assistant Director will represent the Director, when necessary, at various committees, council, and departmental meetings. This position reports to the Director of Testing Services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Considerable experience and knowledge of test administration and proctoring.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse array of internal and external students, staff, and faculty.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret test administration regulations, policies, and standards.
• Ability to coordinate and manage websites.
• Ability to edit, review, publish and disseminate documents.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the university.
• Considerable administrative experience directly supporting senior level members of an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor projects and meet and prioritize competing deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and confidential environment.
• Skilled in using computerized applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

Additional Considerations

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Psychology, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.
• Work experience in test administration and proctoring.
• Experience in higher education setting.
• Experience with Blackboard.
• Expert level skill in the use of Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience in the use of Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with SPSS or similar statistical software, preferred.
