Senior Embedded Software Linux Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join the Atlas Software Team. You’ll play a key role in making Atlas a reliable, performant, secure robot which can be deployed in the most demanding environments!
While prior robotics experience is desirable, candidates with experience building Embedded Linux Software products in other industries such as Networking Equipment, Medical Devices, or Automotive are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Design the Linux systems architecture used on Atlas
Bring up new hardware - from early prototyping to mature development
Debug gnarly systems problems, document root causes, and develop plans to resolve them
Analyze and optimize performance of data-intensive systems
Develop clean, performant, secure software in C and/or C++ at both user-space and kernel-space levels
Automate testing and analysis of software systems - with techniques like unit tests, integration tests, fuzzing
Desired Experience
Expert-level knowledge of Linux at both User Space and Kernel Space - 10+ years of experience
Performance-aware C and/or C++ software development
Prior experience bringing products through the full software lifecycle - from early prototyping to post-release support
Networking fundamentals, particularly at the L2 and L3 layers
Strong understanding of computer hardware concepts - memory hierarchies, CPUs and Threads, and common busses like USB and PCI-e
Ideal candidates will have experience in at least one of: Computer Security, GPUs and Compute Accelerators, and firmware.
This job will be a hybrid or full-time role at Boston Dynamics Waltham office.
