As a Physical Therapist Aide at Westlake Therapy Services, you will perform various departmental duties and assist with treatment programs. You will work alongside an overseeing Therapist as you provide direct patient care and supportive services. This role is an excellent entry into the Respiratory Therapy field, offering a wealth of development opportunities and hands-on experience with some of the best caregivers in healthcare.  

 

A caregiver in this position works full-time| 4-10s or 5-8s| travel between Westlake Therapy Services and Middleburge Heights FHC.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Carry out departmental duties and treatment programs that are delegated for adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients.  

  • Inform the Department Manager or Senior Therapist of any equipment malfunctions or perceived safety hazards. 

  • Clean, maintain and stock supplies. 

  •  Maintain a clean gym area and treatment rooms. 

  • Assist with care of patients under the direct supervision and direction of the Physical or Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. 

  • Inform the therapist of any ill response by the patient and maintain patient confidentiality and modesty at all times. 

  • Assist in directing volunteers. 

  • Transport patients to and from physical and occupational departments. 

  • Ensure safety of self and patient when transporting/transferring patients. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma/GED
