Summary of Position:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing project planning and management for established initiatives within the company. They ensure that projects are completed to specification, within an established time frame and budget. A Technical Project Manager is the lead subject matter expert within the company regarding technology concerns. They use their industry expertise to improve all aspects of project planning and resource management.
Essential Functions:
• Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
• Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
• Structure project delivery teams to efficiently meeting business requirements
• Continuously monitor for gaps, interdependencies, and risks with the projects
• Takes proactive steps based on available information
• Conduct appropriate reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
• Establish and maintain project schedules
• Management of deliverables, including standard and process definitions; validating and reporting on adherence; developing Key Performance Indicators for the area of expertise; maintaining staff capacity plan; being a team champion and sponsor; providing leadership direction and coaching for project tasks as well as a career development
• Define goals, outline approach, and make adjustments to achieve desired delivery
• Ensure communications meet all stakeholders needs, Client, Partners, and other related team members
• Provide leadership/direction for the program/project team including resource assignments for both company and Client
• Drive operations meetings or other appropriate forums to prospectively manage upcoming milestones, decisions, and plans
• Ensure meetings have structure and clear purpose and goals; facilitate and drive meetings effectively and communicate decisions and action items to team members and relevant parties outside of the team
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
• Responsible and must use independent discretion for the following project levels:
o Budget
o Spend to date
o Forecasted Spend
o Assessment of budget burn rate relative to total Project budget, scope, and due dates
• Proactively manage escalations
• Act as point person for Project-level communications that will keep sponsors, stakeholders, business partners, and team leads informed on matters including, progress to plan; key milestones; integration efforts/needs across the program and/or project; risks, issues, etc.
• Instill confidence of delivery to Clients
• An expert in project team management including dynamics of virtual teams, matrix reporting relationships, and cross-functional resource identification and allocation
