Job Summary:

Custodial Technician Positions – Part-Time & Full-Time

We’re hiring dependable individuals for custodial roles involving moderately heavy manual work across various buildings. Responsibilities include routine housekeeping and general cleaning tasks, using proper methods and materials to maintain the cleanliness and care of buildings and equipment.

Work is performed under the general supervision of a Foreman.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties

Use appropriate cleaning methods and materials

Care for building spaces and custodial equipment

Opportunities Available:

Part-Time - 4 hours Monday through Friday - Shift to be discussed
Full-Time - 7pm - 3:30 am

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

Management

• Effectively manages assignments and priorities to ensure the fulfillment of projects, tasks, and responsibilities
• Follows suggested procedures to assure the highest standards of risk management, employee safety and risk avoidance

Technical

• Scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors; vacuums, shampoos, and spot-cleans carpets
• Sweeps and cleans sidewalks, porches, and front entrances
• Changes trash and refuse containers; takes trash to specified locations for disposal
• Washes windows and woodwork
• Cleans tables in eating areas, kitchen areas, and cleans and polishes furniture
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms and fixtures, telephones, and water fountains
• Dusts shelves, wall hangings, blinds, fans, and light fixtures and replaces light bulbs
• Performs minor repair work
• Sprays for bugs and other insects
• May move office furniture and equipment as directed
• Picks up debris around buildings
• Assists in loading and unloading equipment
• Assists in rigging of stage equipment and props
• Assists in floor plan set-ups and take-downs for events
• Operates room dividers and adjusts seating

EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS: As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and/or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the official job description.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Entry Level Position to show demonstrated proficiency and increasing knowledge of job  responsibilities and requirements during the
