Planning Manager

OVERVIEW:

The Planning Manager supports the North American (NAM) Commercial function and the Head of NAM Planning in the development and maintenance of budgets, fiscal forecasts, and in-season analysis. The Planning Manager is also responsible for the leadership and development of Merchandise Planners at the senior, associate, and/or assistant level. 

Please note this is a hybrid role partially based in our New York City office. All candidates must be local or willing to relocate. You must also be authorized to work in the United States. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Responsible For:

• Developing and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders across the business related to planning, merchandising, marketing, and commercial analytics 
• Support the Head of Planning and Director of Global Planning in the North American budget setting process by ensuring revenue, profitability, and inventory targets are appropriate for the respective gender/territory
• Coordinating and leading the monthly Open-To-Buy re-forecasting process at the gender/territory level. Responsible for managing and presenting monthly re-forecast KPIs related to sales, gross margin, and inventory levels
• Supporting the monthly key-item forecast process and cascading the information and recommended actions to the Merchandise Management team
• Regular analysis of current and historical performance to drive strategic initiatives that support the long-range plan
• Collaborate with the Merchandise Management team on the pre-season planning process related to hindsighting, customer choice counts, and receipt targets to support the upcoming season’s strategy and fiscal budget
• Fostering a “trade-to-win" mindset by regularly reading and reacting to current business performance as well as recommending adjustments to various trade activations where appropriate
• Leading analysis and communication to the Merchandise Management team related to the management of aged inventory and markdowns
• Managing and developing a team of Merchandise Planners across multiple levels of seniority

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Essential Skills & Experience:

• 4+ years of experience in a merchandising, planning, or buying role
• Management and leadership experience
• Experience running and leading an Open-to-Buy process  
• Excel savvy and a self-motivated learner 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Willing to travel

This role has a salary range between $110,000-$140,000. The base pay offered is based on market, experience, and skills.
