About the role

Geico is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, UX Research. As the Senior Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of our products and services through insightful research and data-driven insights. Reporting to the Chief Design Officer, you will lead a team of talented UX leaders and researchers, guiding their efforts to create exceptional user experiences that align with our business objectives. 

This position is a hybrid role, and it is required to be on-site 5 days a month at one of the following locations. Starting January 1, 2024, it's required to be on-site 3 days per week.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a team of quantitative and qualitative researchers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Set clear goals, define research methodologies, and ensure the team's work meets quality standards and timelines. 

  • Build and grow a top-performing research team by attracting, recruiting, and retaining talented individuals. Collaborate with HR and the senior leadership team to develop hiring strategies, conduct interviews, and make informed hiring decisions. Foster a diverse and inclusive team culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to develop a comprehensive research strategy aligned with business goals. Identify research opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and create roadmaps for executing research studies. 

  • Oversee and participate in all phases of the user research process, including user recruitment, study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Utilize various qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as usability testing, surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis, to gain deep insights into user needs and behaviors. 

  • Analyze research data, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights that drive informed design decisions. Communicate research findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner through reports, presentations, and interactive workshops. 

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to advocate for user-centered design principles. Act as a strategic partner, providing valuable insights and recommendations throughout the product development lifecycle. 

  • Stay up to date with the latest research methodologies, tools, and industry trends. Continuously evaluate and improve research practices, ensuring the team is equipped with the right resources and techniques to deliver impactful results. 

  • Foster the growth and development of the research team by providing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and support individual career aspirations. 

  • Collaborate with Product Operations and other stakeholders to develop and manage the research budget effectively. Optimize resource allocation to ensure research activities are conducted efficiently and within allocated budgets. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 6+ years of experience in research, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role. 

  • 6+ years of experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, surveys, interviews, and ethnographic research. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience in research  

  • Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, surveys, interviews, and ethnographic research. 

  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools, such as PowerBI, or Tableau. 

  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive user-centric design decisions. 


 

Annual Salary

$128,000.00 - $224,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
