BASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services.  

 

We are seeking a Technical Service Specialist to provide proactive, professional on-site services to our catalyst customers for Sulfuric Acid, Phthalic Anhydride and Maleic Anhydride in the North and South America region. This role will involve supervising catalyst filling, assisting with plant start-up, conducting measurements, troubleshooting, and offering technical consultation. You will also support our sales and marketing teams to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

As a Technical Service Specialist - North and South America, you create chemistry by...

• Supervising catalyst filling operations at customer plant sites across North and South America, including fieldwork.
• Providing start-up assistance following catalyst exchanges at customer locations.
• Offering technical consultation on catalyst applications, including performance analysis and optimization, accompanied by detailed reporting.
• Conducting measurements on site for customers using specific devices.
• Preparing and updating operational manuals and procedures to ensure best practices.
• Collaborating with country teams to exceed customer expectations and enhance satisfaction levels.
• Maintaining regular contact with customers to collect, file, and document operational data, ensuring it is uploaded to internal databases.
• Conducting on-site technical visits and virtual meetings with customers as value-added services.
• Ensuring service equipment is maintained in good condition and managing the procurement and transportation of necessary accessories.

If you...

• Have a university degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, or equivalent.
• Hold experience in chemical plant operations with direct technical support experience.
• Are familiar with catalysts is desirable; and have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Are proficient in English and Spanish.
• Are willing to travel extensively (up to 70-75%) within the North and South America region.
