BV-Advisors, LLC, a Geffen Mesher affiliate, is a business valuation and litigation support services firm located in Portland, Oregon, specializing in the valuation of businesses and their underlying intangible assets for mergers, acquisitions, corporate planning, tax, accounting, financial reporting, and litigation purposes. Our clients include closely held and publicly traded businesses, private equity firms, as well as prominent legal and accounting firms. We are seeking a full-time Business Valuation Specialist; this is a great opportunity for upward advancement in a unique field of professional expertise.

Success looks like: The right candidate will be a highly motivated individual with experience preparing business valuations and calculations of value. You can juggle multiple projects to a high degree of efficiency, and you demonstrate proficient technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas. You’ll help business leaders look around corners, go beyond the numbers, do something different by developing rapport with clients and making a difference. Whether directly with business owners or through their numerous business advisors, such as attorneys and accountants, your goal is to provide independent, unbiased, and objective analysis to meet any valuation or litigation-related compliance and/or consulting issue.

Requirements

What you bring: Your work will include, but not limited to:

• Perform valuation analyses on a wide range of assets and private entities within the various industries.
• Assist with the analysis of tax returns, financial statements, company data, valuation models, historical trends, and more.
• Conduct market research on factors that could affect a company’s value including economic trends, industry dynamics, and competitor activity.
• Preparing documentation to support actual financial and company comparable assumptions used in the valuation models.
• Maintaining, preparing, and analyzing summary valuation and performance schedules.
• Maintaining and nurturing client relationships.
• Provide administrative support with the digital library and maintenance.
• Work jointly in work groups and with team members to share knowledge and contribute effectively to complete tasks, develop ideas and processes across organizational boundaries.
• Adhere to the core values and standards of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 1+ year of accounting and/or business valuation experience preferred. 
• Demonstrated knowledge with financial modeling.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
