About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced People Director to join our fast-growing  start-up. As the People Director, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives to support our organization's growth and success. Your primary responsibilities will include managing employee relations, optimizing HR processes, establishing strong HR business partnerships, talent management and acquisition, performance management, and fostering employee engagement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization and contribute to the well-being of our employees. This position is located in Nashville, TN with a hybrid work schedule located in our beautiful Gulch location.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations:

  • Develop and maintain positive employee relations by fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts proactively and effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify and implement improvements in HR processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Streamline HR operations and systems to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Continuously evaluate HR policies and practices to align with industry best practices.

HR Business Partnership:

  • Develop strong working relationships with department heads to align HR initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and advice on HR matters, including workforce planning, organizational design, and change management.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead the recruitment process for mostly Manager and above positions. 
  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Conduct interviews, assess candidates, and make recommendations to senior management.

Talent Management:

  • Develop and implement talent management strategies to attract, develop, and retain high-performing employees.
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate appropriate programs.
  • Manage succession planning initiatives to ensure a strong leadership pipeline.

Performance Management:

  • Assist with the performance management process, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related issues.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Total Rewards: 

  • Assist with benefits administration, including healthcare plans, retirement programs, and leave management.
  • Educate employees on available benefits and ensure timely and accurate enrollment processes.
  • Manage compensation planning process.

Policy Development:

  • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Monitor and assess policy effectiveness and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across the organization.

Employee Engagement:

  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Plan and coordinate employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and social events.
  • Regularly communicate with employees to gather feedback and address concerns.

HR Project Management:

  • Lead and support special HR projects as assigned including payroll admin, vendor selection and management, HR compliance, PEO management, onboarding build-out and all assignments as needed.
