As an Infrastructure SRE Specialist within Citi's Enterprise Operations & Technology, specifically supporting the Chief Information Security Office (CISO), you will be a critical part of a team dedicated to safeguarding Citi’s and its clients' assets and information. You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and reliability of our IT infrastructure components. This role requires a strong focus on diagnosing and troubleshooting complex issues, continuous improvement through automation and new technologies, and proactive system health monitoring. A significant aspect of this role will involve migrating virtualized environments to the OpenShift platform and enhancing database technologies, particularly MS SQL Server.

Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Management & Reliability:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and ensure the high availability and optimal performance of all critical IT infrastructure components.

  • Act as a key escalation point for 1st and 2nd line Service Desk teams, providing advanced technical support and driving resolutions.

  • Proactively identify and address problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement across the infrastructure landscape.

  • Run and maintain the production environment by continuously monitoring system health, availability, and performance.

• System Engineering & Enhancements:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain robust Windows-based infrastructure, including expertise in servers, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.

  • Refine existing systems and actively introduce new technologies and best practices to enhance infrastructure productivity and reliability.

• Database Management & Expertise:

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of MS SQL Server queries and other critical database technologies for management, tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Cloud & Platform Migration:

  • Lead and execute the migration of existing virtualized environments to the OpenShift platform.

• SRE Principles & Automation:

  • Gather and analyze comprehensive metrics from both operating systems and applications to aid in performance tuning, fault finding, and capacity planning.

  • Create and implement sustainable systems and services through extensive automation and continuous uplifts.

  • Partner with development teams to enhance service quality through rigorous testing procedures and controlled release management.

  • Balance the speed of feature development with critical reliability and well-defined service-level objectives (SLOs).
